Job Description
The incumbent is responsible to provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure the availability of safe and airworthy aircraft for the services of SriLankan Airlines at optimum cost and productivity levels, in compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality and safety standards and service levels with regards to aircraft maintenance. The scope also includes providing maintenance and engineering services to customer airlines, profitably.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Formulate and implement business strategy and operational plans covering all areas of Engineering and Maintenance of SriLankan Airlines and deliver strategic targets through optimum productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure that safety and quality requirements applicable to the Company and/or functions are formulated, activated, deployed as part of the operational system and monitored and evaluated as appropriate for continued effectiveness.
- Ensure that the SriLankan Airlines Engineering & Maintenance activities (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization – CAMO, Approved Maintenance Organization – AMO & Supply Chain Management) conforms to all the conditions in the approved expositions and Procedure Manuals, Civil Aviation Authority Sri Lanka requirements and other applicable regulations and requirements, in compliance per the certifications held.
- Ensure that all operations in the area of responsibility for which the post holder is accountable is provided with the necessary resources and conducted in accordance with the Company’s standards and when appropriate, with the relevant regulatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
- Maximize opportunities for revenue generation through third party maintenance.
- Provide leadership through strategic direction, people development to ensure a highly skilled and motivated Engineering management team to meet agreed goals and business targets and ensure continuity.
- Ensue implementation, monitoring, management and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) covering all four sections of people, process, site and technology and provide strategic directions for managing business continuity under the post holder’s purview. Ensure Department wide readiness to respond to a disaster situation and ensure that all employee’s and third party’s Business Continuity Management(BCM) roles are defined, assigned at all levels, implemented, tested and revised periodically in accordance with the Business Continuity Management (BCM) governance framework and quality assurance programme.
Requirements
A holder of Bachelor’s Degree /Engineering Graduate from a recognized university with at least 15 years of work experience out of which 10 years of post-qualifying experience at Managerial level in commercial aircraft maintenance and/or aircraft engineering.
OR
Holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license and multi-category aircraft type approval and at least 15 years of work experience out of which 10 years should be at Managerial level in commercial aircraft maintenance and/or aircraft engineering.
Selected candidate is required to be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.
