Senior Executive – Group Consolidation & Compliance

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Holdings team – Battaramulla – as Senior Executive – Group Consolidation & Compliance to perform consolidation and compliance activities of the Group by adhering to the accounting procedures & policies of the group to enable effective, efficient and timely deliverables for day to day operational activities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Group’s multi-currency consolidation process (including extensive joint venture accounting) for both bi-annual internal management and statutory purposes in line with IFRS requirements
  • Assist initiatives to identify, develop, implement and improve the consolidation process using cost effective tools and autonomation 
  • Preparation of monthly Balance sheet reconciliations, including multi-currency intercompany reconciliations
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and analysis for both regular reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Prepare ad hoc research and analysis on various areas of accounting issues in support of special projects or requests.
  • Identification of accounting standards developments from the various standard setting bodies and analyse their impacts for the Group.
  • Assist Group Audit Plan and liaising with auditor
  • Update the Group Accounting Policies to include changes in business environment and best in class practices
  • Update the Group Accounting Procedures to include changes in business environment and best in class practices
  • Update the Group Chart of Accounts to facilitate information requirements of the Group
  • Prepare necessary governance inputs for group wide initiatives and provide inputs for operational, reporting and monitoring activities

Qualifications, Experience, Skill and Competencies:

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, etc.)
  • Above 3 years of combined experience in a Big Four Accounting Firm as well as in industry working including experience in IFRS consolidated reporting and preparation of Group Financial Statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting
  • Excellent command of ERP, BI, EPM tools, Microsoft Excel, strong analytical, report writing and communication skills
