Manager – Finance

Over the last three and a half decades – MAS Intimates has differentiated itself in the global fashion industry through its innovation mindset, strong technical competency, and sustainability initiative.

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Capital -Intimates -Bangladesh as a Manager Finance to oversee the respective finance function for the division, guide the team in performing their duties, address any related issues so as to ensure all financial transactions/ processes are as per group standards and comply to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing, implementing and sustaining the finance strategies in order to drive efficiency in achieving department KPIs whilst supporting the division meet set organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls / procedures to ensure required standards are in place to meet statutory and group requirements/ standards.
  • Prepare management reports when required by various stakeholders highlighting variances, forward monthly reports to related parties in a timely manner, undertake corrective / preventive measures to aid the senior management team in taking necessary action to minimize wastage/ costs and support the division to meet its goals.
  • Frequently liaise with head office to report cluster financials. Prepare financial statements and presentation of quarterly reviews and budget reviews.
  • Work in collaboration with the team to achieve set annual/medium term revenue, financial / non-financial targets, analyse annual overhead budget whilst identify variances for corrective action and provide strategic guidance where needed to ensure KPI’s are met.
  • Talent Management- Together with management: coach, mentor and inspire talent within the team by using appropriate tools and processes to support the identification and development of skills and capabilities in order to ensure a steady pipeline of versatile bench strength is developed to meet organization goals.

Play a key role in developing, identifying and defining the required skills for future job roles of Finance & upgrade the existing tool to bridge the skill gap to reduce touch points and enhance their skills, sustain motivation levels and retain employees

  • Drive Process improvements and Strategic projects- Lead the team in identified the areas of improvements and using autonomation/ innovation to drive strategic projects/ initiatives increasing efficiency of the team
  • Relationship Management: build and maintain strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders – Regularly liaise with Cluster EXCO and the Opsco to report financials whilst guiding the team to prepare and analyse financial statements and presentation of quarterly and budget reviews

Liaise with external and internal auditors, whilst monitoring the preparation of company financials and schedules.

Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant institutes including, Board of Directors, financial and regulatory authorities to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner

Maintaining relationships with the internal/ cross functional teams (marketing, support and business units) to obtain timely and accurate information, to provide analytical insights that support the achievement of monthly KPIs

  • Oversee and lead/ follow through to ensure seamless flow of accurate and timely information within the respective pillars to support management and business in the decision-making process that influence the current and future state of the organization:
    1. MFT- Managing & drive manufacturing units to achieve and improve profit targets whilst ensuring all financial processes and transactions comply with group and statutory guidelines 
    2. BFU- Manage the SG&A costs of MAS Intimates (Private) Limited and its overseas design offices, adhering to set policies and procedures 
    3. FIU- Facilitate smooth business operations through the procurement of non-material related resources NMPR: Optimize the company’s working capital position through efficient and effective management of accounts payable 
    4. MI Be the strategic finance arm responsible for driving organizational strategy, performance and goal congruence 
    5.  OFU Managing and secure the achievement of customer order profitability through Inventory Management & Sales Optimization 
    6. Treasury Ensure optimum utilization of financial resources within the company using a myriad of products, strategies and relationships
    7.  Business Agility- Efficiently and effectively manage the partnered capacity function.
    8. Risk and Internal Audit – Ensure reporting reliability, eliminate profit erosion, mitigate risk of fraud and error and maximize shareholder profitability.
    9.  Business Partnering Ensure smooth business operations through seamless connectivity amongst finance and front end/manufacturing. 
    10.  Process and Governance: Ensure financial reporting reliability by mitigating risk of frauds and errors, thereby maximizing shareholder profitability.
  • Periodic monitoring and review of the Balance Sheet to ensure maintenance of Balance sheet as per group and standard accounting policies.
  • BFT –
    1. Review monthly and weekly projected cash flow, center overheads and balance sheet to support in timely decision making 
    2. Oversee and ensure timely and accurate processing Expat salaries. 
    3.  Oversee Central charges budget negotiation & quarterly review of the same. 
    4.  Make decisions on the method of disbursement of cash funds based on the business requirement and approve fund disbursements in line with audit requirements.
    5. Reviewing of overseas office financials & developing/implementing/controlling financial policies/strategies, thereby facilitate the setting–up of the overall business direction of the overseas office. 
    6. Establish, monitor and improve control processes related to gate pass approval, finance user ID management and other head count related requirement approvals.
    7. Establish, monitor and improve control processes related to WC approvals based on the authorization grid.
  • MFT
  1. Oversee Payments and Purchase order approval based on value hierarchy.
  2. Approve capex projects/Payments & negotiate with suppliers.
  3. Review forecasting monthly profit achievement.
  4. Review board papers & payback calculations for project evaluations.
  5. Manage the year end auditing process for the allocated legal entities in order to ensure timely and effective completion of the process to meet regulatory/ statutory requirements.
  6. Conduct fixed asset account verification and physical checks for availability in order to ensure the accurate availability and accounting of available assets.
  7. Review monthly OH projections.

Qualifications, Experience, Skill and Competencies: 

  • Masters and Degree in Accountancy or Finance/CIMA/ACCA/CA
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in similar capacity
  • Computer literate and understanding of accounting software principles.
  • ‘A’ grade for Finance & Controlling SAP module and R grade for report generation.
