Executive – Garment Technologist (MAS Active – Nirmaana Katunayaka)
Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active – team as a Garment Technologist! This role would enable you to delivery first time right pattern making, pattern grading, Mini marker Validation, sample and work collaboratively with Support teams to create a bulk feasible product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Customer/ Merchandiser in the event measurement adjustments/ feasibility of the sample construction is required.
- Preparing base patterns for the designated category, whilst coordinating with CAD (Computer-aided design) to obtain relevant markers whilst forwarding the main material and trim consumption to the merchandising team for customer approval, in order to order fabric in a timely manner.
- Prepare patterns and markers for R&D (Research & Development) samples and evaluate same together with the team leader in order to ensure that the proto sample is accurate prior to the Customer sample
- Develop patterns and markers for proto samples by obtaining required fabric and accessories in consultation with the merchandising department.
- Making required adjustments to patterns based (All proto stages) on customer comments and prepare new samples incorporating the adjustments accordingly (Size-Set, Merchandising Samples, Pre-Production).
- Prepare Virtual Samples depending on customer requirements whilst analyzing the fit virtually (Spec changers, art work changers other editing) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Engage in the following activities in an accurate and timely manner thereby, facilitating the bulk production process:
- Finalize pattern/s for bulk production
- Prepare the ordering requisition sheet by liaising with CAD whilst releasing the consumption for the buy
- Ensure that the Spec and schematics are completed in an orderly manner prior to the buy
- Conduct development meetings in order to decide on samples which are to be developed.
- Trims to be utilized whilst arriving at technical/ construction decisions based on the sample sketches along with the Technical Manager.
- Dispatching placement boards in a timely manner to the relevant printer in order to facilitate on time production
- Contribute to the implementation and sustenance of Lean initiatives whilst driving Lean objectives to achieve the set KPIs and ensuring individual KPIs meet to the required standards
Knowledge and Skills:
- Degree in a relevant field (Physical Science/Fashion Designing)
- Certificate in pattern making or relevant qualification
- 3 – 4 years practical experience in pattern making
- Good Analytical and Communication Skills
- Computer Literacy
- Experience in Seamless knitting technology
- Knowledge and experience in Fabric developments
- Knowledge and experience about Yarn and raw materials
- Knowledge in Santoni knitting programming
- Ability to operate Santoni knitting machines and trouble shooting
- Effective communication with customers
- Fabric testing and basic dyeing knowledge
