Executive – Designer (Active – Nirmaana – Katunayaka)

Being in the business for over 17 years, MAS Active is a prestigious establishment in Sri Lanka focusing on Activewear, Athleisure, Performance wear and Men’s essentials. We are looking forward for a dynamic candidate to study, and assist Head of design in research of new fashion trends in relation to swimwear and then practically applies those designs in an innovative form by working with patternmakers, sample room and customers, whilst fulfilling customer expectation creatively as per given timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fashion awareness through reading, observing, customer portals, fashion shows and search engines and be updated as per the customer and market requirement in order to ensure the creation of desirable and unique designs/ concepts.
  • Perform duties in a timely manner, thereby facilitate the establishment of a unique Designing and Development process within the organization.
  • Assist the execution of new styles and concepts by coordinate with the PDC team/ other relevant departments on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Designers in maintaining and updating style details, obtain feedback on same whilst effectively utilizing same when designing styles based on the customer’s profile.
  • Assist with activities pertaining to the finial fit, ensure that the design aesthetics are maintained during the sewing process whilst prepare/ arrange photos by way of the photo shoot as and when the need arises.
  • Compile promotional presentations in order to highlight/ provide information on design/ product capability and market intelligence thereby optimizing customer relationships.
  • Ensure the timely functioning of the PLM system and reviews 
  • Keeping track of customer visits as per schedules on the Nirmaana Reservation Calendar 
  • Travel schedule review (Calendar for team visits to plants, suppliers etc.) 
  • Assist in updating seasonal trend boards.
  • Inculcate MOS requirements within the team by actively engaging in setting up standards, coordinating training needs with the MOS Champion of the PDC, supporting the internal audits thereby establishing desirable organizational standards.
  • Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by the management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a similar capability (Experience in basic pattern making would be advantageous) 
  • Use of Basic Design software Basic knowledge on finance dealing 
  • Effective documentation 
  • Presentation skills
  • Degree in Fashion Designing or related filed.
