Assistant Manager – Governance & Control (Active Center, Nawala)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active Center team as an Assistant Manager – Governance & Control! This role would enable you to establish, implement and maintain governance and control over systems and procedures in alignment with Group Risk & Control guidelines to mitigate and minimize risk of fraud, errors and malpractices that cause loss and disrepute to the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Aligning with Group Risk & Control guidelines, establish a robust governance and control protocol for the division, direct the team to create awareness and train employees who need to follow the protocol and operationalize the same.
  • Develop the risk management framework of the MAS Active division in line with group risk and control guidelines and independently assess possible risk areas and implement controls where it is appropriate
  • Deploy a strong business acumen to evaluate risk profiles of existing customers and report to division’s Exco frequently and Evaluate risk profiles of new customers that are planned to be onboarded and provide recommendations
  • Through periodic internal audits, check on adherence and conformance to relevant SOPs, SAP Transactions and FSFE guidelines relating to all operational functions including financial reporting, payroll etc., and report deviations to relevant authorities
  • Monitor the performance of the team members on a regular basis and plan interventions to improve capability, so that they are conversant with changes in technology and can meet the current and emerging needs of the cluster
  • System improvements and updates Identify best practices related to Darwin/other system solutions, refine and adapt to optimize, and roll out across the division
  • Validate business requirements and propose appropriate changes to the IT systems with the best cost option (selection between MAS TS & Attune, explore options for cost sharing with other BUs) while adhering to the budgetary allocation
  • Identify required system solutions and process solutions & evaluate the reengineering requirements whilst restructuring & re-designing of the processes to facilitate new changes & the trends in the current and future business environment.
  • Perform regular user access management activities for SAP Darwin solution such as verification of inactive & dormant accounts, terminated employee IDs, transfers etc., ensuring access accuracy and conduct evaluation of user requirements prior to granting access.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Degree or master’s in business management in Finance or Information Technology.
  • At least 5-6 years’ experience in merchandising/operational areas with analytical/leadership skills
  • Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Power BI a prerequisite. Knowledge in Business Intelligence Analytics
