JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in preparing the monthly Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements and analysis reports as per Sri Lanka Accounting Standards and submit to the Head of the Department.
  • Accepting job files for invoicing, by following up on jobs not invoiced, with the relevant personnel in order to comply with the invoicing lead time. 
  • Preparation of invoices of all products by following the guidelines given in the SOPs ensuring the accuracy.
  • Performing additional invoicing as per emails /amendments to SOPs after obtaining approvals for costing sheets.
  • Dispatching of invoices as per the approved guidelines to facilitate collection of dues in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of payment of clearing agent by checking the job costing in order to ensure timely & accurate payment.
  • Perform customer black listing/ blocking in the system based on sales feedback and market intelligence as per the company policy.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations for assigned bank accounts.
  • Prepare accurate debtor reports / review minutes & presentations and share the same with the relevant staff members as per the company policy.
  • Assist in effective handling of monthly, mid-month debtors review meetings. 
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports & carrying out assigned reconciliations in order to facilitate timely decision making.
  • Assist in annual audits by preparing financial schedules and statements as per auditor format and requirement.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION

  • 6 passes at GCE or London O/L with “C” pass for English and “A” pass for Mathematics AND
  • Minimum 2 passes for A/L’s OR successful completion of UGC approved A/L equivalent foundation course with minimum 1 year experience in accounting filed.
  • Advance knowledge on Microsoft office packages and knowledge on SAP will be considered as an added advantage.
  • Part Qualification in Professional Examination – CA/CIMA/AAT/ACCA.
  • Base knowledge of freight forwarding.
  • Ability to effectively use e-mail.
