Main Responsibilities:

  • Independently draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and other transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, with appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties.
  • Responsible for the entire contract management lifecycle from creation to signing and archiving.
  • Draft and maintain templates that comply with company policies and local laws.
  • Responding, within established guidelines, to customers RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests
  • Take the contracts lead role in project contracts.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to bring deals to closure.
  • Provide contract related guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law.
  • Intellectual Property management

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

  • Law degree from an accredited university
  • Admitted to practice law in Sri Lanka (member in good standing of the Sri Lanka Bar Association)
  • Master’s degree in law
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and work independently.
  • A minimum of five years of substantial professional experience with law firms and/or in-house legal departments with a focus on contract drafting and management
