You should ideally;
- possess 10+ years of experience in compliance
- possess a degree in Law, Finance, Accounting or any similar qualification accepted to the bank
- possess experience in a Bank in the Compliance department for 10 years or more and exposure to regulatory compliance is a must
- possess in-depth knowledge of banking and financial regulations in Sri Lanka, including foreign exchange and FIU regulations
- possess analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership quality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- completed completed a Diploma in Banking could be an added advantage
- professional certifications in compliance and foreign exchange could be an advantage
You will be responsible for,
- monitoring and ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations
- developing , implementing, and reviewing compliance policies and procedures
- conducting risk assessments and compliance reviews on directions, returns and operations of branches
- Reporting on compliance status to senior management and regulatory authorities
- Advising and providing compliance training to bank employees on the Foreign Exchange regulations and AML/CFT matters
- Keeping track of changing regulations and help the Compliance Officer in adapting the bank’s compliance strategy accordingly
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Sri Lankan foreign exchange regulations, including rules and guidelines set by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka
- Conducting regular audits of foreign exchange transactions, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management
- Conducting risk assessments related to foreign exchange transactions and implement mitigation strategies as needed
- overseeing ML/TF related matters within the Compliance review
