Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Factory Manager. The position exists to lead the overall operation of the CSD factory situated at Mathugma as per the company’s objectives within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective OF achieving the targeted volumes, line productivity, unit cost of production, quality at the required time and managing the administration function of the manufacturing plant’s activities.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Monitoring the overall operational processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
- Responsible for selection of equipment.
- Monitoring product standards and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed to meet the budgeted plant efficiency levels.
- Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program based on the best practices in the industry.
- Emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance and prepares reports.
- Analyses data and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems to minimize losses created by plant breakdowns.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in energy conservation, productivity, and quality to produce beverages and establish best in class processes.
- Ensure compliance with SLSI & ISO norms of related product beverages.
- Supervising and motivating the team of workers and working out the human capital required to meet targets.
- Coaching and counselling workers in order to ensure that adequate manpower is available for the smooth operation of the line and monitor discipline on factory floor.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Degree in Engineering / Production or equivalent qualification with 5 – 10 years’ experience in a FMCG Company.
- Business understanding in beverage bottling process and canning process with all the related activities and strong understanding of modern technologies related to manufacturing.
- Sound Knowledge in Manufacturing Consumer Food Products and related Food Technology, Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Quality Systems, Process Management, Production Planning, Engineering concepts.
- Basic knowledge on financial analysis, Awareness on Quality, Food Safety Management Systems together with quality plan and HACCP plan.
- Leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, decision taking & problem solving, coaching, and training skills, project management, negotiating skills, time management, analytical skills.
