Assistant Manager – Production Planning
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager – Production Planning. The position exists for continuous process improvements within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective of production planning, operational excellence, supervising water treatment plant, syrup room and product quality of the respective areas, analyzing monthly variances of raw materials and packing materials.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Obtain the sales forecast; ascertain the availability of material (raw and packing) and come up with the optimum production plan considering the plant capacities while optimizing the finished goods stocks.
- Coordinating all stake holders in Lean operational Team led by Tactical Team Leaders and drive Lean and other operational excellence projects in Ranala Site.
- Overall responsibility to ensure smooth operations of the water treatment plant and syrup room.
- Supervise all maintenance related issues.
- Check for any discrepancies in order to ensure that no delays to the production line are caused by the water treatment plant & Syrup Room.
- Monitoring daily variances in order to minimize the material variances in the factory.
- Handling all documentation related work of quality systems which are implemented in factory; Handling auditor queries for same in order to maintain the quality standards as per the certification received.
- Responsible for maintaining applicable ISO requirements related to QMS, FSMS, EMS & OHSMS in respective area.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Degree in BSc in Engineering / Science or equivalent with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity in an FMCG manufacturing environment would be preferred. Post Graduate qualification in Manufacturing or Business Administration.
- Business Understanding on Material Management, Product Quality Knowledge, knowledge of Beverage Manufacturing and Operational Excellence tools.
- Manufacturing Consumer Food Products and related Food Technology, Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Methodology, Food Standards, and related regulatory requirements. Operational Excellence tools such as Lean/TPM/Six Sigma/TQM.
- Understanding and requirement fulfillment of Quality Management systems, Food safety management system, Occupational Health and Safety management system, Environmental Safety Management System, Energy Management System, Good Manufacturing Process and PRP, CCP, OPRP.
- Analytical; Innovative; Communication; Adaptability; Negotiation; Decision Taking and problem Solving; Organization; Attention to detail.
