Key purpose of the Job
The Senior Garment Technologist is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support for the assigned products/styles. This includes an understanding of customer requirements, development of risk assessment, consumption costing, pattern development, coordination for sample development/fit sessions, sample approvals, and supporting the handover of developed styles to Production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for understanding customer requirements and coordinating pre-sample development requirements, including risk assessment, consumption costing, and validation processes.
2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sample development OTD and customer satisfaction objectives.
3. Collaborate with concerned internal teams for the effective Production Handover of developed styles.
4. The person should have the willingness and desire to work on the production floor and understand the sewing operation in the following areas to implement automation smoothly, liaising with the plant team for Automation implementation:
- Garment Sewing Techniques and Methods
- Industrial Engineering
- Understanding the sew machine types and attachments
- Understanding the operators’ behavior and attitude
- Understanding the basic technicality of the fabric and the cut panel quality
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Diploma in Business Management/ Mathematics/ Clothing Technology
Experience
Around 3 to 5 years’ experience in Product Development with strong exposure to Technical / Fit & Construction concepts
